For the past 5 years we have watched the Waterfront along Rowes Wharf develop from a “Ghost Town” we knew as children growing up in the North End, to the beautiful outdoor space known as The Rose Kennedy Greenway. As children, our neighborhood friends would play Hide and Seek amongst the empty warehouse buildings.
Now children play on the ship at the Boston Tea Party museum and tinker with the new inventions at the Children’s Museum’s new Tech Kitchen.
Spend an afternoon here and grab a pizza at Nebo Cucina, (regular or Gluten free) and have a picnic on the Greenway or sit outside the Aquarium watching the sailors on the water, while listening to the sound of the seals in the background. There are so many things to do in Boston during school vacation and Boston Harbor is the perfect place to spend a day or two exploring.
For us there is nothing more enchanting than standing on Nebo’s outdoor patio and listening to the sound of children’s laughter as they are eating meatballs or sharing an ice cream sundae. It’s as if we are watching an Italian movie where families are sharing lunch in a piazza in Rome!
